The historian’s task isn’t to present what actually happened in the past, because it’s impossible. As you know, every person have their own opinion to some political or historical events. For example, if for me Bohdan Khmelnytsky uprising is a cossack revolution, then for my ukrainian colleages is a national war for Ukrainian independence and for Polish people is only a civil war (“wojna domowa“). For someone Symon Petlura is a hero, but for another part of people he is a “loser“. History is a subjective science.
